Gossip Girl S02E01
I couldn’t wait to watch Season 2 of Gossip Girl, this show is becoming one of my favorites along with The OC and Gilmore Girls. It was on again last night on CW so I got to watch it gain – YAY!. So here is what happened:
The show opens with a 2 minute recap of last season and then straight into Nate having his affair with a married woman and using Serena as a cover up. And boy was he getting it on, didn’t think Nate had it in him! Meanwhile Serena is all alone on the beach trying to get over Dan (Lonely Boy) and Chuck, well Chuck is Chuck… surrounded by a couple of topless women checking his phone to find out that Blair is on her way home. Back in New York Dan is dating up a storm, while interning for his favorite writer. Dan is supposed to be writing an article, which is supposedly going to be better than the one he got published in “The New Yorker”. It is kinda weird seeing Dan doing all this dating – he looked like the shy type in season 1…
Meanwhile Jenny has been interning at Eleanor Waldorf’s company all summer long. She even made a dress for her mean boss to wear for the big “White Party”, which her boss did not want to wear. I loved the way she said it is so huge and then Jenny said “oh no its not for me its for you”. Well anyways that was a mean boss – “eggshell gives me a migraine” and then she dups a huge box of buttons for Jenny to sort!
Back in the Hamptons Chuck is getting ready to go meet Blair ( his slicked back hair made him look nerdy ) while completely denying it to Serena. He really has it bad for Blair, he should have gone to Europe with her! Now Blair will most probably not forgive him… Blair spots him as she gets of the bus and she has a look of surprise but it is Chuck who gets the biggest surprise… Blair came back with a guy who she kissed to make Chuck jealous (loved Blair’s smirk to Chuck after she did that)
Serena and Blair have a lot of catching up to do… Blair can’t believe that Serena say around all summer doing nothing… She had one of the best lines when she reponded to Serena mentioning that there was a lifeguard who asked her out – a lifeguard is like a Kleenex, you use it ince and then discard it! Blair sat shiva all summer long… just as Chuck walks in Blair starts telling all these stories and Serena went along with it… Blair denying that Chuck hurt her – yeah right! Love the way Blair was making Chuck jealous…
Rufus is on tour… Jenny tells her dad how her design was rejected by the mean boss, Laurel. Rufus suggests to her to call Eric to see if he can help her get into that exclusive party… Dan doesn’t come up with his article and get fired from his internship… Jenny does call Eric and apologizes to Eric… Serena finally goes out with the lifeguard… Meanwhile Blair is having supper with the family and brought James… Chuck does his best to try to ruin it by trying to prove that he knows all there is to know about Blair, but James plays along… Blair plants a pin, that Chuck knows is dear to her on James and her plan worked out just the way she wanted it – it got to Chuck! Blair and Chuck are at thier best when they are snapping at each other…
On her way home from her date with the lifeguard, who ends up running out half naked in front of the car – Nate… that was funny! “Damn the mother-Chucker!” “Chuck-bastard” – that was Blair dissing Chuck, loved the way she called James her fake boyfriend… and who the girls run into – Chuck and Nate! Chuck desperately trying to get under Blair’s skin – he is out for dirt on James! He calls his own PI to get dirt on James! Meanwhile Blair is about to “break up” with James, but as she is about to say something she gets a phone call that instead of breaking up she asks James to be her date for the white party! Wonder what that was all about… Nate and Serena agree to keep appearances and go to the party together…
At the “White Party” Jenny comes with Eric wearing her own design and walks right by Laurel (the mean boss) with this huge smirk on hher face… Dan comes to the Hamptons looking for Serena and would you believe it Serena’s grandmother became good and told Dan where to find Serena… she tells Dan that Serena still has him in her heart! Back at the party Blair is doing her best to make Chuck jealous and it is working but James realizes what Blair is doing… He confronts Blair but she tries denying it and he just walks away telling her that Chuck and her deserve each other… Blair confronts Chuck and blames him for everything… With Eric’s help Jenny impresses Tinsley Mortimer with her own design in front of her mean boss… Nate is upset at seeing his lover with her husband and wants her to feel as bad as he is feeling, so he and Serena put on a very public show – making out all kinds… and who gets to see this well poor Dan!… all of Serena’s explanations don’t make it any better since she can’t reveal who they were trying to make jealous…then two of Dan’s “dates” spot him and now he has some explaining to do! He gets wine thrown at him and as Serena is trying to get the jacket clean they kinda make up… Blair finds James and admits that she was trying to make Chuck jealous and then James reveals something no one was expecting – he is a Lord! and starts talking in a british accent… just as Chuck is getting the phone call with the same info… Blair is shocked but from the looks of it she isn’t going to be breaking up with him any time soon…
Jenny is confronted by her mean boss – Jenny tells her that she will be staying at Waldorf Designs and not accepting Tinsey’s help to find her an internship… Jenny accomplished exactly what she had set out to do… Chuck tries apologizing to Blair but is he really sincere, when Blair asks him to give her a good reason and say what she wants to hear he isn’t able to do it… with that Blair gets in the car and drives off with James… Nate’s fling may be turning into something more… Dan finally is able to write while he waits for Serena on the beach…
And the summer ends with fireworks and Dan and Serena kissing…
